Assignment 7: Learn to Give an Informative Speech (Tutorial) on PowerPoint
In this assignment, you will give a PowerPoint
tutorial to your classmates. To complete this assignment, you need to do the
following:
1. Get roughly familiar with PowerPoint by going
to "Learn About PowerPoint"
2. Go to PowerPoint Lessons. This
sheet breaks down PowerPoint into teachable sections and provides links to
URLs for you to model in your speeches. You're only responsible for teaching
one of these sections, but it will help you to be familiar with everything
preceding your section in order to teach your classmates with confidence.
3. Go to PowerPoint Assignments.
This breaks down the tutorials by student. Look for your name and find out
what you'll be teaching.
4. Go to Terri's Tutorial Tips.
These tips will help you get ready to teach.
5. Practice your speech, using PowerPoint as you practice. You'll be teaching
in a computer lab and everyone will have access to a computer, so keep this
in mind. I suggest you enlist someone else in your class to act as your "demo
buddy," helping those (and there are always some) who need individual
attention during your talk.
