Assignment 3: Give an Introduction
In this assignment, you will be introducing a member of your class to the class. Another member of your class will be introducing you. To do this exercise, you'll need to:
1. Fill out the information requested on the sheet called "Questions
all Must Answer."
2. Class will be broken into groups of three: an introducer, an introducee,
and a camera person. Each person will rotate positions until everyone has
had a chance to do everything.
3. Find out who is introducing you, and give them your Question Sheet.
4 . Find out who you will be introducing, and get their Question Sheet.
5. Find out where the zoom is on the videocamera (Terri will show you) so
you can be ready to play with the camera (don't be scared, just have fun with
it) when it is your turn to be the cameraperson.
6 . Use the "Introduction Script" to practice
introducing your classmate.
5. When I call your group number, the first person to run the videocamera
takes position behind the camera. The first person to be the Introducer stands
in front of class and the videocamera. Introducers: remember to make eye
contact with the room, not the camera (i.e. don't 'spike' the camera.)
The first person to be Introduced (i.e. the Introducee) stands to the side
of the Introducer with body in a three-quarter position so as not to upstage
themselves (Terri will show you how to do this. ) Introducees: remember
to look at your introducer, not the audience (i.e. don't upstage your introducer.)
7 . Everyone in the group gives and receives introductions and runs the camera
until all have had a turn. Then we move on to the next group.
8. Everyone celebrates having done such a great job.
